There are many who will say that a lying spirit and diabolic stronghold has been further strengthened in the public mind and it's possible that more than a few young basketball fans in elementary school will be asking “mommy, what is gay?” when they hear about this on the news tonight or in coming days-- if they don't already know. And if they do, it'll seem all the more o.k. to keep their options open when dating in the future, if they are so inclined.
(Google search "Obama, Clinton praise gay NBA player" if you want to read the article...)
Real emotions coming up for anyone?
Frustration? Irritation?
Even...ANGER? – These might be fitting emotions I think when you hear authority figures telling a nation that its “o.k.” and even “good” and that jumping off a moral cliff is good.
And that has according to many happened today when a current U.S. President and past U.S. President congratulated a current national sports player for “coming out of the closet."
I wanted to address this differently, rather than go on a “roasting Clinton and the current President” rampage like I expect some to do.
Anyone who knows me, would know I wouldn't do that anyway. I've always loved President Clinton, for whatever reason and have no quarrel with our current President, although I disagree vehemently with him on a number of issues.
Anyway, it's easy to want to “lash out” at those leaders with whom we disagree.
But it's not always righteous anger, as the following illustrates.
“James and John wanted to destroy those they did not agree with. James and John believed that they had the full and correct doctrinal revelation. James and John wanted to destroy the people who disagreed with them.
How did Jesus respond to those with whom he was not in agreement? Did Jesus want to destroy people and tear them down? Here is how Jesus replied. “But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them."] And they went on to another village. ” (Luke 9:55–56, NASB95) Jesus rebuked the very disciples who wanted to tear down people’s lives. James and John were told that their desire to condemn people did not come from the Holy Spirit, but from another spirit. And finally Jesus explained his purpose even for those who disagree with Him… His purpose is not to destroy people but to save them.
The word “save” is the Greek word “sozo”. It speaks not just of saving and going to heaven but also of a saving today. Sozo is healing people today. Sozo is rescuing and preserving life today. Sozo is to help the hurting and the suffering. Sozo is to restore people. Sozo is benefiting and helping people. So even for the people who disagreed with Jesus, Jesus came to help them." But, can't you go overboard with this LOVE STUFF?
Yes, I agree that Jesus over turned tables at least once, called some religious folk “snakes,” perhaps looking like a madman to some.
What President Clinton and Obama said was wrong, in fact, very wrong. (Where I have been in the past, I am entirely done being politically correct on this subject.)
"God have mercy on us" -- yet before we go off and attack our leaders, hopefully we will remember the tears of Jeremiah for his broken nation which was incidentally breaking the heart of God. But I'll leave that for another time.
So, put your love glasses on and pray for the broken... OH! Here's a great chance to plug Christian Artist Beckah Shae's video:
